A fourth consecutive defeat and the pressure is really mounting on Liverpool and Rafa Benitez.

Post(mortem) Thread – Reds 1-2 Lyon

Last night’s 2-1 defeat to Lyon at Anfield in the Champions League was not a pretty picture and questions will rise over where it’s gone wrong and how it’s going to be fixed.

But what the fans saying in the This Is Anfield forums this morning? Here’s a selection of quotes from fans after last night’s game. You can join in on the opinion and discussion here.

TassieRed: All teams go through bad patches during a season. Here’s hoping this is ours and we shall soon recover.

liverpool127: We didn’t deserve to lose that. Let’s not bitch about the result, lets support the team.

GrkStav: A pathetic display by Liverpool. Awful all-around play. Kelly an exception, as was N’Gog in the first half and Aurelio for the part of the first half he actually played. We were GOD-AWFUL passing wise and we couldn’t defend to save our lives.

Kirkdale Kid: Shambolic. Can’t even be bothered going into any in depth analysis. The truth is he’s bought too many average players and we’re now paying the price. There’s no urgency in attack or defence and the squad looks demotivated.

camdnz: Am I the only person here that thought we deserved to win?? Hugo Lloris won them that match.

bsolanski: We are in need of a bit of luck – eg : Kuyt’s goal should have stood. Gerrrard lasting 20 or so minutes didn’t help. It does feel as if Lady Luck is pissing down on us from a great height. To which I would ask – what have we done to deserve this? Even the referees are conspiring against us (V Spurs away, v Chelsea away, v Sunderland away, now this match).

Humbleman: Benitez has to take responsibility for signing inept players who are unable to do what is expected of them. This club needs a huge cash injection and we need to replace several players come the summer. For what it’s worth, I still have faith in Rafa and still want him incharge.
