as suggested by the press e’to will cost us 35 million and they has been suggestion that xabi is in advance talks with barca. all this is pointing something – rafa is going to real madrid.

if rafa goes – we’ll lose the biggest signing we’ve made since 2005. hope this is not true. i hate to say that everyone is dispensable in lfc but if we lose rafa – who is gonna replace him and he will take another 3-4 years to rebuild.

Personally, I think we should get 2 more class wingers, since we have sold Gonzales. Yes, we must not forget that Luis is recovering, but Pennant, Arbeloa and Finnan can’t really take on players (Pennant can’t cross) and beat them when defenders are lying deep. We need more of the creativity of Brazil or Portugal/ Spain (Aurelio is no brazillian when it comes down to attacking…).

I can see Alves going for a pretty high price though – I wouldn’t be surprised for it to hit 18-20 million pounds, especially coz CSKA London are weak on the right. So I wouldn’t get hopes up too high, even though rightfully there is no reason we shouldn’t be able to tempt him here. I don’t think he’s crucial though – if we can get Simao, we’ll look quite strong with dependable Finnan (backed up by Arbeloa) and Simao / Pennant (/Gerrard) interchangeable on that side.

Lots of rumours about Eto’o but I don’t think there’s much substance to them – nor am I convinced he’s the striker we’re looking for (remember this guy plays in a team with Ronaldinho AND Messi AND Deco AND Xavi attracting a lot of defensive attention). Henry is sounding pretty unsettled at Arsenal… fuck it, why not go for him??? Talk of being contenders would have a real ring of legitimacy about it with someone like him up front…

I hope people do not take this in the wrong way, though.

PS On the new away Kit– I quite like the green and white combo. I am glad we stayed away from yellow and red. I also hope the home kit is not going to be a V-necked type, cos I hate those as well. The retro sixites round-necks are my preference. I think the current strip is very good.

From reading a lot of forums lately I cant help but think that to many LFC fans just need to take a step back from the keyboard, take a deep breath and the calm the fuck down!

The season has only just finished, half our big targets play in Spain where the league still has a couple of weeks to run.

So Man Ure went out and got their men, good for them! its got fuck all to do with us! we were never linked with those players so why the fuck is everyone stressing.

Rafa made his statement last week on the back of missing out on the European Cup by the smallest margin, he was angry and frustrated at that and rightly so but the way people carry on in the forums you’d think Parry, Hicks and Gillette where sitting on their hands doin fuck all.

Its obvious deals have been discussed its obvious the backing is there and until any deals are finalised it makes no sense to leek information to the press, it only attracts attention of other clubs and rival bidders.

I’m all to aware like everyone else of the need to act fast to get our 1st choice targets as we don’t wanna end up in the same situation that saw us pay 7m for friggin Jermain Pennant late last summer! but lets just cool our jets for a bit right now and see what happens over the next 2 weeks.

If we get to the same point as last season and we’re in August with none of our first choice targets on board then its time to worry and ask what’s going on but for now its only the 1st June so calm the fuck down.

I also believe a lot of fans wanna rein in their expectaions of how much we’re gonna spend this summer too! Its not gonna be a wholesale changes of the team like Chelski 3 years ago.

I’d suggest a realistic guess of our targets would be a central defender (probably Milito) two wingers (anyone from Simao, Malouda, Silva) and I’d like to think we’ll get Alves (where we play him being the question, right wing or right back, but where does that leave Finnan?)
And then One big name striker(possibly 2 at a stretch) any from Tevez, Eto’o, Villa, Bent.

Thats not to say that we’ll buy all those players out right! Everyone knows the likely casualties of the current squad but there might still be a shock with Xabi, Riise, Crouch or anyone getting traded in for the greater good of the team. (Never rule anything out in football it can always come back and bite you on the arse)

I would certainly be loath to see Xabi go but a swap involving Eto’o would improve our overall 1st team squad now that we have Masch to compensate for Alonso’s loss and could divert some of the unused funds to other parts of the field.

You get the feeling something will happen soon but until then then……….deeeeep breaths!
