Cheers MTMC. He's some boy Harry. Lovely fella. Has got fuck all himself, but always doing this sort of thing for any Red in need. When we played Barcelona away a few seasons ago, he bought an auld knackered moped down there and rode it all the way home raising money for Ray Kennedy who fell on hard times. Then he rode round every inch of the UK for the poor young Red Kid who's losing his sight. Now he's off again on this one. Sleeps under bushes and all sorts - real staunch fella, and at the age of 61 a bloody miracle. Still plays footy the aul bugger.

Anyway, was near asleep when Ivjmac broke the new 25/8 rule. And I've just woke up so haven't give it much thought but that's a huge development that. Weird how it just came out of nowhere.

In fact, there's a few things I can't get me head round right now...
UEFA ban Chelsea from making signings for poaching kids.
FA come out with a rule that is bound to encourage it all the more.
UEFA rescind Eduardo's ban - giving the divers carte blanche.
FA call early meeting to look into Adebayor's antics - ban him early leaves them wide open to Manc conspiracy accusations.

Fuck sake, who are these idiots running the worlds biggest and most lucrative sport.

Where it gets interesting is in the remaining 17 "foreign" players.

Taking out the 8 from above, that would leave the following squad players that are over 21 and not "home grown":

Diego Cavalieri
Alberto Aquilani
Daniel Agger
Fernando Torres
Andriy Voronin
Albert Riera
Fabio Aurelio
Yossi Benayoun
Sotirios Kyrgiakos
Dirk Kuyt
Ryan Babel
Javier Mascherano
Lucas Leiva
David Ngog
Pepe Reina
Philipp Degen
Damien Plessis
Nabil El Zhar
Martin Skrtel
Andrea Dossena

I guess it means 3 would have to go to get us down to the minimum requirement of 25 players? Should make for an interesting next two transfer windows.

It mentions Chelsea have the bare minimum right now, but that leaves them in a tough spot over the next two windows since their banned from registering new players. Very interesting.

FS-where does Nemeth fit into that mix?

With him going out on loan the past two seasons, does that mean he would no longer qualify as trained in our system?

It all gets confusing because even though he's been out on loan, we've still held his registration the entire time.

PS... meself, I bet far more like MTMC.

And are you sure it was Tuesday's lads? I know me bird threw a wobbler when they dropped Corrie and moved it to Thursdays so they could show the games on the Wednesday.

If I'm right send me winnings to Harry's bike ride appeal!

Come to think of it, how come none of you miserable bastards commented on that. That's some task for a man in his 60's on a scabby old moped. In fact, you should send a couple of quid to the appeal... Miserable buggers.

I was hoping I'd said everything I was going to on this. But come on Aitch, let it lie there.

Behave yourself. You coach kids. You should know better.

And I was one of them banging the moral drum, but have a look at me post... I said Van Persie went right through him. You see them tackles week in week out. The tackler crashes through the player, taking everything, player's legs and ball.

Granted Van Persie was a bit high off the deck. But sometimes they get away with them. Sometimes they get booked. More often than not, the player getting tackled comes crashing down on the tackler injuring him, sometimes purposely most times just landing heavy from the impact.

But Adebayor was cute to it. He got up and out of the way, but then what he done was a disgrace. He could have blinded that lad, and he wasn't content with that. He stamped his hand an all.

No sorry mate. You should have another look and rethink, because that was one disgraceful shithouse trick that could have done unrepairable damage to an old team mate. No excuse... maximum ban - whether the FA charge VP or not.

No room for that sort of thing in sport nevermind footy.

Steve I'm not sure but I'm relably informed he drives one on his day off.

Nah. Arsing about aside, me mate did have 500 on him. He doesn't bet like that. He's the odd fiver here and there like meself. But he got into conversation with some Tennis nut, who told him if he got on Federer quick that he would get 7 to 1 and that it was a steal. Probably just chit chat but me daft mate lumped on it. Mind you won't be that daft if he's picking up 4 grand tomorrow.

Not sure who would be our 8 players that meet the criteria right now:

Our English players:
Carra
Gerrard
Johnson
Spearing
Kelly
Darby

I'm guessing maybe these two would be the other by the time the rule goes into effect?
