SOAK, it's sad to hear that. I suppose they just take their lead from what they hear and see from over here. I think you're doing the right thing... take no notice, go for a ciggie break.

I haven't read a paper since getting back from Budapest or listened to Talk Sport or watched Sly news. No need to. I know what they're saying. They never say anything different.

FS, I am in Malaysia and I have stopped listening to the Sly pundits a long time ago. They and also the Paul Mersons and Shebby Singhs who are equally laughable. Halftime for me is a toilet break and a ciggie.

Unfortunately too, our sports news in the papers takes news directly from those anti-LFC papers in England. Stopped reading those too. The last time I accidentally took a glance at the backpage of the newspaper here, it read 'CHEAT' in big and red bold letters on N'Gog so-called dive. That's how bad it is over here.

Then we had someone from the Official Malaysian LFC Fan club site writing equal garbage in its newsletter.

I look forward to one day seeing these knobheads eat humble pie, I really do.

And not to jinx it, but... could the tide of luck be turning in our favour... since Blackburn have to slog out a mid-week game against Man City in the Carling Cup this Wednesday... which you'd think they'd be trying their best to win... while we get to give some much needed Horse Placenta Massages to the entire squad!

I think you are all completely missing the point about the Everton game.

When is Rafa going to learn from all the amateur teams out there and everyone else in the Prem and football league, that you should always have a man on the post, when defending corners and deep set-pieces, so that....er...
... hang on... wait a minute... that would have made both Everton goals on-side wouldn't it?
... and put us 2-1 down at half-time....
...er never mind... carry on...

(was that petty of me?)

Well as you say James, it depends on how fit the lad is. But the thing is, if he's able to play it would be good to give the lad a run out before throwing him in the deep end again.

I'm a bit worried that he'll eventually need the op anyway. And if that is the case, it would have been good to just go ahead and have it out the way by now.

But then that's just a baseless opinion and I'm sure the medical staff are doing their very best with/by the lad. That's why I said, if fit in me post.

In all honesty, I'm really happy with NGog at the moment, and the run of games have obviously been good for the lad. But, like everyone else, I just want to see our best 11 on the pitch soon. But even that's not quite right either.

It would be better to say, once we have our top 16/17 players fit we are going to be sound and a match for any other team in European football.

Fat Scouser - agree withe that line up with the exception of Torres. Partly because I think the minor run of games will do Ngog the world of good, but mostly because I like all of just don't know how fit Nando is. I know I made the case above that this is the perfect game for some other players to get some game time as they return from injury, but this is a different case given the numerous knocks and set backs Fernando has had over the season. I just dont feel like it would be fully justifiable to play him with such an important game right around the corner. Or maybe a half hours playing time is necessary to shake off some of the rust that is bound to have bui;t up and hope that he makes it through unscathed to what is a massive game against teh gunners. Thoughts?

I notice the paste all stats boys are fading into the background. Anyway as a lover of stats, and to dispel those who think we were shite.
.
No 1 stat for the Merseyside Derby, this game has recorded the most Red Card in Premier League history. SO that stat alone tells me that ladder position and form me absolute jack shit.
.
As if we expect to go to Evertons home ground and dominate play in a Derby Game. Lets think about what a great, gritty, determined win it was.

2 clean sheets in the last 2 games with dagger and Carra both starting as the CB partnership. What a wonderful/complex thing football is.

When you have your best players available, you have a better chance of winning. Mystic Meg or what?

I thought that the defence was very sound on Sunday and provided the basis for our win. Yeah people may point to the two disallowed goals but they were OFF-SIDE. Is this not the point of a decent/well-drilled defence. Never seemed to do AC Milan any harm.

I think that Rafa got this team-selection right. Grit over skill was required and that is exactly what we got.

Well done to the red men and a special mention for dagger and pepe. These guys are top class. Dare I say it, world class?

I wonder who bought these guys? Not forgetting Mascher or Torres of course!

Oh and...

Fiorentina - Protest
Mon 30 Nov 2009

Picture this in some alternative universe: 9th December 2009. Liverpool line up to play their last ever Champions League group game at Anfield before moving into their newly built 60,000 seater stadium next season. Snoogy Doogy nets a hatrick in the 3-0 win over Fiorentina in a meaningless game since the Reds secured passage to the knockout stages of the Champions League in the previous game. In the pubs around Anfield after the game fans discuss what would have happened if Moores and Parry had sold to DIC with the recent news stories about financial troubles in Dubai.

Instead we have a net spend in the transfer window, that is considerably less than the owner's expenses claims, A shovel (unless it hasn't been sold to pay off an interest payment) that hasn't been used and a debt that is more than the original purchase price of the club. Broken Promises, Budgets, Balance Sheets and Lies should not be something we have to worry about, but whilst they are we will make a stand.
The Spirit of Shankly calls upon all fans attending the game to show that this game is far from meaningless and this is our chance to tell the world from INSIDE the ground what Hicks and Gillett are doing to our football club.

Let us have 90 minutes of banners and chants to show that we are not going to just sit back and live from refinancing deal to refinancing deal.

Let us tell the world together that Tom and George are not welcome here.
************************************

Let's hope, eh.
