Can Liverpool pull of a remarkable comeback and qualify for the second round of the Champions League? Victory over Marseille in France on Tuesday night will confirm they keep their place amongst Europe’s elite when the competition resumes in February.

One point from the opening three games of this season’s campaign left the Reds’ chances looking slim, but thumping victories at Anfield over Besiktas (8-0) and FC Porto (4-1) have revived their fortunes in this very tight group.
