FC Lucerne vs Liverpool
16 July; 6.35pm KO | Grenchen | Friendly

After beating Merseyside neighbours Tranmere 1-0 at Prenton Park in their opening pre-season friendly, Liverpool set up camp in Switzerland and first face FC Lucerne in Grechen.

Rafa Benitez will be pleased that Daniel Agger came through Saturday’s victory over Tranmere, after spending last season sidelined through injury. While new signing Andrea Dossena could get his first appearance in a Liverpool shirt.

Liverpool’s Spanish heroes of Euro 2008 won’t be joining up with the rest of the squad yet, they were given three weeks rest after their final win over Germany. But Javier Mascherano, Dirk Kuyt and Nabil El Zhar are expected to begin training.

Kick-off on Wednesday is at 6.35pm.
