It’s that time of the year again – when there’s just a few games left to play and club’s are thinking about who they want to sign this summer… so no surprises that Reds captain Steven Gerrard has been linked with a move to Real Madrid again after Real’s director of football, Benito Floro, admitted that he is a prime target for the Spanish club. THIS ISN’T CHAMPIONSHIP MANAGER YOU KNOW!
However this time the rumours should die down pretty quickly when Real Madrid are reminded that he signed a new four-year deal to stay at Anfield last summer and pledged his future to the club after almost signing for Chelsea.
Floro told a Spanish radio station, “Gerrard is a player on the list that we wanted to sign previously.
“I’ve recommended as priority signings a powerful central striker like Adriano and a top midfielder in case Zinedine Zidane leaves.”
Real Madrid have also been linked with poaching Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez, a suggestion that has quickly been rubbished by Benitez himself.
