Hope for Hillsborough: ‘REMEMBER US 3:14′
Written by Max Munton on May 11th, 2006

Press Release from the Hope for Hillsborough Memorial…

Here is a song to remember and remind us all…

WHO?
Written by Dean Walker, a singer/songwriter from Huyton Liverpool, a lifelong Liverpool FC supporter and survivor of Hillsborough, who sang Nessun Dorma at Anfield on the 15th anniversary of the Hillsborough tragedy. The song ‘Remember Us 3:14’ is finally being released.

WHAT?
‘Remember Us 3:14’ is a tribute song for Hillsborough, but it is not like any tribute song that has gone before:

“‘Remember Us 3:14’ is a passionate and poignant tribute song” Liverpool Echo
“‘Remember Us 3:14’ is a great song and really says it all” Anne Williams (live interview on Radio City, Liverpool)
“‘Remember Us 3:14’ is a truly fantastic song, which makes me feel proud every time I play it” George Sefton (the voice of Anfield)
“‘Remember Us 3:14’ is the best rock song to come out of Liverpool EVER!” Jj (The Krazyhouse – Liverpool’s #1 Alternative Club)

WHEN?
‘Remember Us 3:14’ takes us back to that fateful day, right back to the last precious minute when we were all still alive. At 3:15pm 95 fans were pronounced dead by the Government’s coroner. ‘Remember Us 3:14’ tells of the loss, recaptures the atmosphere of the before and relives the pain of the after. It is for the families, the friends, the loved ones, everybody who was a part of it. And the little piece of each of us that died on that day. Dean wrote the song the night after performing at a concert for Hillsborough at St. George’s Hall in Liverpool. The concert brought back the injustice of the tragedy to Dean, overwhelming him, as he was at Hillsborough on that terrible day.

“I was never going to release this record, I originally didn’t want to record it or play it to anyone because it was so personally cathartic, but too many people have requested its release as it enables some release in themselves. It can make the world aware, but we need your help . . . .” Dean.

WHY?
Dean’s record company 2Dogs Records are DONATING ALL PROFITS FROM THE SALE OF ‘REMEMBER US 3:14’ TO THE NEWLY FORMED HOPE FOR HILLSBOROUGH CAMPAIGN to help fund Anne Williams take her case to the European Court of Human Rights.

The song is frequently requested at the match and in the Liverpool nightclubs. A fan posted it on a Liverpool fan forum in December. This resulted in a phenomenal number of worldwide hits on Dean’s website, with repeated requests of “Where can I buy this?”

WHERE?
‘Remember Us 3:14’ is available to DOWNLOAD from iTunes, HMV Digital and Virgin Digital for only 79 pence. 79 PENCE FOR JUSTICE. THAT’S NOT A LOT TO ASK FOR, IS IT?

Please check out the song at www.myspace.com/deanwalker

What can you do to help get justice?

You could . . . .

• Tell everyone you know – email all your contacts and raise awareness
• Contact 2Dogs Records and arrange an interview with Dean
• Get a logo of ‘Remember Us 3:14’ from 2Dogs Records to display on your website
• Buy the song and play it loud so everyone can hear, then ask your friends to buy it too

IF WE GET TO NUMBER 1 DOWNLOAD EVERYONE WILL BE MADE AWARE AND ALL THE 96 FAMILIES CAN GET JUSTICE.
