Quick Preview

No wins in the league in 2008 for Liverpool and next sees a tricky mid-week trip to Upton Park as the Reds look to get their Premier League season back on track.

There’ll be a return for Yossi Benayoun to his old club and ex-Red Craig Bellamy could be in opposition for the Hammers after recovering from injury.

Rafa Benitez will recall the top players rested for Saturday’s FA Cup victory over Havant and Waterlooville at Anfield. Pepe Reina, Fernando Torres, Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher are all expected to return to the starting line-up.

Sami Hyypia may keep his place alongside the returning Carragher in central defence after a less than impressive debut for new Slovakian defender Martin Skrtel at the weekend.

Former Hammers Midfielder Javier Mascherano is suspended and defender Alvaro Arbeloa is an injury doubt. Xabi Alonso should replace the Argentinian alongside Gerrard in midfield, while Finnan could keep his place at full back.

Up front, either Crouch or Kuyt will be partnered with Torres - with Voronin out for 6 weeks.

Possible starting 11:
Reina, Finnan, Carragher, Hyypia, Riise, Pennant, Gerrard, Alonso, Benayoun, Kuyt, Torres
