Takeover Latest – Deal Imminent?
Written by Max Munton on February 27th, 2008

The latest talk around Merseyside today suggest that the Dubai International Capital are very close to a deal to buy out George Gillett’s 50% stake in Liverpool FC, although it is thought co-owner Tom Hicks is not budging on selling his half of the club.

It is thought Gillett is now disillusioned with the plans for the club after the breakdown in relationship between him and business partner Hicks, despite agreeing a new £350million refinancing package only last month.

It is thought negotiations between the DIC and Gillett are close to completion, with the investment company continuing to pursue buying out Hicks’ share in the club.

Stay tuned to This Is Anfield for the latest on the developments.
