The This Is Anfield Chat Room will play host to a lively debate this evening between Liverpool supporters.

The discussion is on the proposed ‘Share Liverpool FC’ idea that 100,000 Reds fans can be found to donate £5,000 each to buy the club from American owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks, putting the power of the club in the hands of the fans. Ultimately this would mean the club could never be sold to an investment-type company again.

But is this a good thing? And will it actually be a possible task to pull off?
