New permanent signing Javier Mascherano has been voted the TIA Player of the Month for February 2008, receiving 55% of the votes in our montly poll.

The Argentinian midfielder continued to impress after winning the vote for January too. Only Fernando Torres and Sami Hyypia received significant votes, with Gerrard, Lucas and Reina the other nominees.

One forum member summed it up well, “Mascherano for me. Torres has the impact and Hypia’s defying his age but Mascherano is just so dominant and he does it against the top sides too.”
