Liverpool’s Steven Gerrard and Peter Crouch have been called up to the latest England squad by national team coach Fabio Capello.

The provision squad released today is for England’s friendly against France in Paris, inconveniently sandwiched between the Reds’ Premier League games away to Manchester United and at home to Everton, on the 26th March.

Scott Carson, on loan to Aston Villa, also makes the squad whilst there are places for former Liverpool goalkeepers David James and Chris Kirkland. Former Reds striker Michael Owen also earns a call-up.
