Podcast Special: Anfield Civil War
Written by TIA Podcast on April 11th, 2008

We give you an explosive bumper 1 hour plus special edition of the TIA podcast. ‘Numbers’ is back with our 5th edition as he reviews the big Arsenal Trilogy and looks at our forthcoming Champions League semi-final with Chelsea. Plus we go behind enemy lines with a Merseyside based Arsenal fan Shawn John from Liverpool’s Radio City for his take on our recent clashes with the Gunners and joining him is our other special guest this week regular contributor Neil Atkinson from Spirit of Shankly.

In the second part of the podcast, in what started as an amazing week for LFC, Numbers and Neil will be giving you their views on the latest on the civil war that has broken out in the boardroom of Anfield. The guys discuss the big breaking news stories that Rick Parry was sensationally asked to resign by Liverpool co-owner Tom Hicks 48 hours after the Champions League Quarter Final 2nd leg. Plus DIC announcing that while the drama is on-going they will be cooling their interest in the club as well as Rogan Taylor’s Share Liverpool’s proposed fan buy-out gaining momentum all in one day.

Other points of discussion include the revelation by Steven Gerrard’s dad that back in 2001 his son was extorted. With a number of burglaries targeting players over the last couple of years in Liverpool is there a specific problem in the city with the criminal underworld & millionaire footballers or is it media hype?

We also focus on the up coming 19th Anniversary of the Hillsborough tragedy and give you information on the memorial service. We also have a preview of the weekend home clash with Blackburn & with the news that Mascherano will be suspended this weekend after seeing the appeal with FA failing… what should Rafa do with regards to his team selection & tactics? And finally on a more positive note we take a look at LFC reserves recent title success in FA Premier League North and some of the clubs young talent for the future. This new podcast is over an hour in length and can downloaded or streamed online, see details below;
