18 year old striker Craig Lindfield is a product of the LFC Academy widely tipped to be the next Robbie Fowler. Craig played an integral role in the FA Youth Cup winning side of 2006 scoring 7 goals throughout the competition.
As a result of his good form in summer 2006 he was promoted from the Academy and given the chance train and play with the first team for the friendly against Crewe. He took his chance well scoring the only goal of the game with a great left foot finish into the top corner, set up by child hood hero Robbie Fowler.
Craig again carried his goal scoring form into the 2006-07 Youth Cup, being an important member of the team that again reached the final. He scored 3 goals in the semi final against Newcastle, including 2 at the Kop end. Craig also went on to score the first goal of the first leg of the final against Manchester United which unfortunately ended in a 2-1 loss, with the 2nd leg yet to be played.
In the 2007-08 season Craig will no longer be eligible for the under 18′s squad and therefore is expected to feature in the reserves, with hopefully more first team action. With a history of players such as Michael Owen and Jamie Carragher coming out of Youth Cup winning teams, Craig Lindfield is definitely a possible future star for Liverpool.
