Liverpool are expected to tell Sheffield Wednesday whether they have a chance of keeping on to English keeper Scott Carson this weekend.
Carson went on-loan to the Owls last season, playing nine times and manager Paul Sturrock has made it clear that he wants the goalkeeper, currently in Germany training with the England squad, to stay on at Hillsborough.
“We’ll know over the weekend if the Carson situation will work out,” Sturrock told BBC Radio Sheffield.
“But I have been spinning other plates so we have options.”
