Feyenoord’s Dirk Kuyt is set to make a decision on his future in the next few days after being linked with a move to the Premiership since impressing during the World Cup.
It is thought that Liverpool are Newcastle are both interested in the £10million rated Dutch striker; for the Reds to provide support for Peter Crouch, Craig Bellamy and Robbie Fowler and for Newcastle, to provide cover for the long-term absence of former Liverpool striker Michael Owen.
Kuyt says, “I have an arrangement with coach Erwin Koeman that I can take some days to think about my future.”
However, Liverpool could be set to drop their interest in the forward if they pull off a deal for Sevilla’s full-back Daniel Alves as Alves’ £12million price tag would use up Rafael Benitez’s transfer budget for the summer.
