Win: Football in the ’80s

The 1980’s was a memorable decade in the history of Liverpool FC, with the likes of Kenny Dalglish (both as player and manager), John Barnes, Ian Rush, Peter Beardsley and Alan Hansen leading the Reds to glory.

The start of the eighties saw Bob Paisley‘s team take the title in 80, 82 and 83, along with a European Cup in 81 and the League Cup three times in succession from 81 to 83. When Paisley left, Joe Fagan continued the success story with a championship, league cup and European Cup treble in 1984.

The Reds then won their first league and FA Cup double under Dalglish’s management in 86 and added another 2 titles and 2 FA Cups before the decade was up.

The Heysel and Hillsborough disasters provided more tragic memories in a decade dominated by Liverpool FC and events which shaped and changed the club forever.

EightiesSporting Legends’ Football in the Eighties magazine provides a perfect review of the Liverpool dominated decade in English football. And we have 3 copies up for grabs in our latest competition.
