Utd comeback dents title hopes

Manchester Utd came back from two goals down to beat Tottenham Hotspur 5-2 at Old Trafford this evening, making Liverpool’s title hopes seem even more distant.

Spurs went 2-0 up during the first half thanks to goals from Darren Bent and Luka Modric. But a second half resurgence from Alex Ferguson’s men saw them turn the game around emphatically.

The result, which came just hours after Liverpool beat Hull City 3-1 at the KC Stadium, means Utd regain top-spot and are clear by three points with a game in hand.

Utd also did their goal difference the world of good with theirs now standing at +38 and Liverpool’s at +40.

The Reds next face Newcastle Utd in the Premier League, next Sunday at Anfield at 1.30pm, whilst Utd face Middlesbrough away the day before.
