ESPN announce Premier League live game details

ESPN, the Disney owned American sports broadcasters, have announced they are planning to launch a brand new dedicated sport channel in the UK which will show the 46 live Premier League games next season they recently purchased following the collapse of Setanta Sports.

The new channel, simply named ‘˜ESPN’, will be available to Sky customers whilst negotiations are still underway to carry the channel on other platforms.

Under the old format, fans had to pay £10 a month to subscribe to Setanta Sports’ package, which included the official Liverpool FC channel.

Now fans must pay £9 a month if they already subscribe to the Sky Sports channels, and £12 a month if they don’t.

ESPN also announced that the live games will be produced by Sky Sports, but carry the branding of the American sports company.
