Liverpool have sent highly rated Hungarian striker Krisztian Nemeth on loan to AEK Athens for the season.
The 20-year-old had been tipped by many Reds fans to break into the first team this season after an impressive pre-season, which saw him score two in Liverpool’s 5-0 demolition of Singapore.
However, Rafa Benitez believes it is valuable for Nemeth to get regular first team action overseas and he will stay in the Greek capital until the end of the 2009/10 season.
Fellow Hungarian, Andras Simon, 19, as also been sent on loan for the season ‘“ to Cordoba CF.
The pair came to Anfield in 2007 and Nemeth spent a portion of last season on loan at Blackpool.
