Striker staying at Anfield to fight for place

David Ngog will stay at Liverpool and fight for his place in the starting line-up, amid speculation linking him with a move away from Anfield.

The 20-year-old French striker faces an uncertain summer with new Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson weighing up his attacking options.

But Ngog’s agent, Bruno Satin, says there is no reason why Ngog would leave the club.

“There has been interest in David, but he will not be leaving on loan,” Satin told Sky Sports.

“He is only 20 years old and he played in 37 matches for Liverpool last season so why would they let him go?

“I know Roy Hodgson likes him as a player as he mentioned him before at Fulham.

“David wants to stay at Liverpool and fight for his place this season.”

Ngog has scored 11 times in 56 appearances for the Reds since signing from Paris St Germain in 2008.
