Loan Watch: Ayala extends Tigers stay

Liverpool’s Daniel Ayala has extended his loan stay with Championship side Hull City until January 2011.

The Spanish centre back was initially on a one-month deal but after three impressive performances, the two sides have agreed a longer deal.

City fan site Amber Nectar show how pleased Tigers fans are to have secured the 19 year old until the new year:

Apr. 25, 2010 - Burnley, United Kingdom - epa02131312 Burnley's Darren Fletcher (top L) vies for the ball with Liverpool's Daniel Ayala (top R) and Javier Mascherano (bottom) during their English Premier League soccer match at the Turf Moor stadium in Burnley, north west Britain, 25 April 2010.

His assured defending, extravagently-bandaged cranium and position of being joint-top of City’s goalscoring charts have made Daniel Ayala something of an immediate hit since joining on an emergency loan last week…now the club have announced the good news that the Liverpool centre-half will be with the Tigers until January 2011 after a deal was struck to keep here until the New Year.

Though his first outing was a torrid affair as City lost lousily at Cardiff, his partnership with fellow loanee Anthony Gerrard has blossomed quickly since then as the pair contributed towards the Tigers keeping a brace of clean sheets last week. Though Liverpool themselves look in some need of a composed defender at present, the fact that he’s staying here for a few months suggests that City’s previously porous defence ought to take a turn for the tighter for the forseeable future.
