Liverpool are once again odds-on at home at 1.4 with bet365 and Boylesports as they play host to Southampton.
Those are very cramped odds considering that they have won just four of 16 Premier League games at Anfield in 2012 (W4 D6 L6).
The stats also reveal that the Saints have won three of the last four Premier League meetings with Liverpool – but to be fair they haven’t met since January 2005.
The one good thing as far as Brendan Rodgers’ men are concerned is that whilst Southampton are pretty good going forward they are woeful in defence.
They have kept only one clean sheet in 14 Premier League games this season, the joint-fewest in the top flight.
That suggests that if Luis Suarez is on form then he is capable of wreaking havoc, and although a far from original punt he looks cracking value at 4.33 with bet365 to get the opener.
The Uruguayan, who is the league’s top scorer at present with 10 to his name, can also be backed at 1.73 with Betfredand Boylesports to in the anytime scorer market, and if Liverpool are to win I will be amazed if he does not get on the scoresheet.
This is the type of game that the Reds must win if they are to get there season back on track, and it will be a major blow if they don’t secure a vital three points.
I think they will be up to the task, and fancy them to win 2-1 or 3-1.
