A touring photo exhibition of witty banners created by sports fans is arriving in Liverpool this Saturday – at Williamson Square from 11am to 6pm for one day only.
The exhibition, which is presented by Tullamore D.E.W. Irish whiskey, is called ‘The Art of Banner Banter’ and shows photos of some of the finest sports banners – including the classic ‘Shanks marmalized Milan/Paisley munched the Gladbach…’ banner by Liverpool fans. The exhibition is displayed on board a customised bus which also has a bar for sampling Tullamore DEW whiskey.
Tullamore D.E.W. is also running a competition to find the wittiest banner writer in the UK – with a prize of £5,000 for the winner. Liverpool fans will no doubt want to enter this given their history of brilliant banners.
