Liverpool’s Under 21 side head to Old Trafford for the second consecutive week, this time with it all to play for in the Elite Stage Semi-Final. After last Monday’s exciting 1-1 draw between the two rivals a place in the final is up for grabs.

A victory for Alex Inglethorpe’s side would set-up a match against his former club Tottenham in the final, who he left in November to join Liverpool. Spurs defeated Everton 3-2 last night to book their place.

Liverpool will be missing centre-back Stephen Sama after his dismissal after just 10 minutes in the final group game last week – a match that was most memorable for Jonjo Shelvey’s superb early goal.

Also missing for Inglethorpe’s side is Spanish midfielder Suso who is away on international duty for the Spanish Under 21’s.

The squad should be in high morale, with likely centre back pairing Andre Wisdom and Lloyd Jones both involved in the first-team victory at Fulham on Sunday. Wisdom played the first 45 minutes and 17 year-old Jones was in the squad for the first time.

Captain Connor Coady made his first-team debut late on in the game and is looking forward to another big match tonight; “It’s a massive game. We want to go there and get a win and get to the final. Bring it on – we can’t wait for it!”

Full back Jack Robinson could also start after returning from a loan spell at Wolves, while Jon Flanagan is also back after returning to fitness recently.

Kick off tonight is 7pm.

Possible Line-Up: Ward, Flanagan, Wisdom, Jones, Robinson, Coady, Teixeria, Adorjan, Ibe, Peterson, Morgan.
