Academy stars Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ovie Ejaria start as Liverpool take on Leeds United in the League Cup quarter-finals on Tuesday night.
The Reds are looking to book a place in the semi-finals of the competition for the third consecutive season, and despite making eight changes, Jurgen Klopp has given them a great chance to do so.
Simon Mignolet takes over from Loris Karius in goal, behind a back four of Alexander-Arnold, Lucas Leiva, Ragnar Klavan and Alberto Moreno.
Of those, only Lucas and Moreno have made Klopp’s starting lineup since Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur in the previous round, while Klavan has played one minute since.
In midfield, Kevin Stewart is joined by Georginio Wijnaldum and Emre Can, with Klopp looking likely to continue with his regular 4-3-3 formation despite considerable changes.
The German is already without Adam Lallana, and his forward line is also hampered with injuries, with Philippe Coutinho (ankle) sidelined until the new year and both Daniel Sturridge (calf) and Roberto Firmino (calf) on the treatment table with minor issues.
This leaves Sadio Mane to perform alongside Ejaria and Divock Origi, against a Leeds defence that has conceded 20 league goals so far this season.
Origi has already scored against Burton Albion and Derby County in the League Cup this season, while he came off the bench to net the opener against Sunderland at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.
Karius, Dejan Lovren, Nathaniel Clyne, James Milner, Jordan Henderson, Marko Grujic and Ben Woodburn make up Klopp’s substitutes’ bench.
Liverpool: Mignolet; Alexander-Arnold, Lucas, Klavan, Moreno; Stewart, Wijnaldum, Can; Mane, Ejaria, Origi
Substitutes: Karius, Lovren, Clyne, Milner, Henderson, Grujic, Woodburn
Leeds United: Silvestri; Berardi, Cooper, Bartley, Taylor; Sacko, Vieira, O’Kane, Dallas; Doukara, Roofe
Substitutes: Green, Ayling, Grimes, Phillips, Mowatt, Wood, Antonsson
