Video: Georginio Wijnaldum’s nutmeg challenge in Liverpool city centre

Watch Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum take part in an undercover nutmeg challenge in the city centre, showcasing his fancy footwork.

Wijnaldum joined up with freestyle footballer Soufiane Touzani for a game of Panna Incognito, trying to nutmeg as many people as possible in 10 minutes.

Wearing a horrific Mr Burns style mask, the 26-year-old produced a host of impressive tricks and flicks, as he attempted to break the 30 mark.

The Netherlands international was asked whether he would be able to nutmeg Jurgen Klopp, to which he replied “immediately.”

No doubt the highlight of the video is Wijnaldum’s struggle up against one local, with the Reds star repeatedly tackled as he endeavoured to put the ball through his legs.

Wijnaldum is one of the most infectiously positive characters in the Liverpool dressing room, and this once again proved his vibrancy—something which has proved invaluable on the pitch this season.

Since joining from Newcastle United last summer in a deal worth £25 million, Wijnaldum has tallied five goals and eight assists in 36 appearances for the Reds.

Only Roberto Firmino (10) has set up more goals for his team-mates in 2016/17, with Wijnaldum level with Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane.

Firmino, Nathaniel Clyne and James Milner are the only Liverpool players to feature more this term, too, underlining his importance to Klopp’s squad.

And still just 26, Wijnaldum is set to continue to serve as a key player for the Reds long into the future.
