As their busy schedule continues, the Reds take a turn into domestic cup territory on Wednesday night as they welcome Chelsea to Anfield.
With another clash with the Blues to come on Saturday in the Premier League, this tie provides both Jurgen Klopp and Maurizio Sarri the opportunity to test their squad depth.
Klopp has seen the likes of Joel Matip, Xherdan Shaqiri and Daniel Sturridge shine when given the opportunity in recent games, and can hope for similar as Liverpool bid for a place in the fourth round.
The manager has insisted his side will need to be “at 100 percent” to ensure progress, though Sarri’s assistant, Gianfranco Zola, has suggested this is seen as more of a warmup clash for Chelsea.
Regardless, Anfield will be expecting another big performance after Saturday’s 3-0 victory over Southampton sealed a record seventh straight win to kick off the season.
