The best photos as Liverpool draw 0-0 with Bayern Munich

Liverpool and Bayern Munich could not be separated on Tuesday evening, with a 0-0 draw a fair result at Anfield. Here are the best photos from a tough night.

There was much anticipation ahead of arguably the standout tie of the Champions League last-16 draw, but it didn’t quite deliver.

An interesting battle took place between the two European heavyweights, but a lack of quality in the final third was consistently on show.

Anfield was in outstanding voice prior to kickoff, with a flag-filled Kop a sight to behold.

Jurgen Klopp was forced into playing Fabinho and Joel Matip as a centre-back pairing, but the Reds’ starting lineup still looked a formidable one.

Naby Keita excelled, particularly in the opening 45 minutes, with one audacious attempt at an overhead kick summing up his new-found confidence.

While the introduction of Divock Origi for a tiring Roberto Firmino did little to inspire improvement in the final third.

There was a touching moment in the second half, as the travelling Bayern fans held up a banner supporting protests against high ticket prices, which the home crowd applauded.

A weary-looking Trent Alexander-Arnold summed up the effort put in from both sides, as they head to Munich next month with everything still to play for.
