A host of former Liverpool and Everton players, as well as managers and celebrities, are uniting for a charity game in memory of those killed in the Southport attacks.
Three young girls, Bebe King, Alice Dasilva Aguiar and Elsie Dot Stancombe, were tragically stabbed and killed in Southport at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class last July.
A year on, through the Hesketh Round Table GoFundMe page, Southport FC are raising funds for the 24 families directly affected, with a charity match at Haig Avenue.
Among those already confirmed to be involved are former Liverpool players John Aldridge, Rickie Lambert, Lee Peltier and Natasha Dowie, as well as This City is Ours actor James Nelson-Joyce and musician Jamie Webster.
As you would expect on Merseyside, big figures from both Everton and Liverpool have come together to help, with ex-Blues manager Joe Royle in one dugout alongside assistant Willie Donachie, while Aldridge sits in the other.
Kick-off is at 3pm (BST) on August 3, tickets are available on Southport’s website here.
You can donate to the official Hesketh Round Table GoFundMe page here.

“This is our moment to come together as a town, a club, and a community. With the support of Southport Hesketh Round Table and the incredible generosity of the public, we can make a real difference to those who need it most.
“Join us on Sunday 3rd August at Haig Avenue, and help turn compassion into action.”
After the attack on July 29, 2025, former Liverpool players Robbie Fowler and Phil Thompson laid a wreath.
The families of the three children killed were invited to Anfield where the relatives of Alice da Silva Aguiar and Elsie Dot Stancombe met with Liverpool’s owners.
John Henry‘s wife, Linda Pizzuti Henry, wrote: “I was so inspired by the grace and love these families have found in their intense grief.
“One family pointed out that their beloved daughter didn’t know evil, and they were directing their grief to making their seaside community better and more beautiful with plans for a special garden.
“It has been incredible to see how the broader community and country have rallied around all of the families impacted by this tragedy.”
