Liverpool confirm new coach & Ibrahima Konate injury boost – Latest LFC News

Liverpool officially announced the arrival of a new individual lead coach, while supporters received positive news on Ibrahima Konate‘s fitness.

Changes in the Liverpool boardroom

Due to the drama of transfer deadline day, Liverpool’s announcement that they had made changes to their board of directors went under the radar.

It is worth staying up to date on the club’s operations, though, as CEO Billy Hogan steps down from the board but retains his role as chief executive.

Notably, after 13 years of service, managing director Andy Hughes is to retire at the end of the season.

He has acted as the main link from the supporters board to the directors, with supporters board chairman Jay McKenna writing that Hughes “genuinely cares about the club” and he “always found him good to deal with when representing supporters.”

Jonathan Bamber, who is joining the board of directors as Liverpool’s chief legal and external affairs officer, is to ‘assume the responsibility’ of Hughes, the club said.

In addition, Liverpool chief financial officer Jenny Beacham has been promoted to the board of directors, becoming the first woman to join the board during FSG’s ownership reign.

The LFC board of directors will therefore comprise of John W. Henry (principal owner), Tom Werner (chairman), Mike Gordon (president), Mike Egan (director), Bamber (chief legal and external affairs officer), Beacham (chief financial officer) and Sir Kenny Dalglish (non-executive director).

More from This Is Anfield

It was with a heavy heart that Liverpool supporters learned Harvey Elliott was to leave for Aston Villa.

The new Villa No. 9 achieved his boyhood dreams at Anfield, and it might not be the end of the story just yet, Keifer MacDonald writes:

“Elliott’s arrival allows last season’s Champions League quarter-finalists the chance to strengthen their squad after a difficult summer of playing trading was aggravated by the fact that they failed to win any of their first three Premier League games.

“It’s worth noting that it’s the kind of deal that will only strengthen the relationship between the two clubs, particularly if a player of Liverpool’s interest becomes available for transfer at Villa Park in the not-too-distant future.”
