It was a statement summer for Liverpool Football Club, twice breaking the club’s transfer record, with a total of 10 new signings, eight players sold and 11 players loaned out.
Transfers In
Alexander Isak – £125m – Newcastle
After a summer-long saga, Liverpool got their new No. 9 on deadline day, and for the second time in the same summer broke the British transfer record with a £125 million deal.
Florian Wirtz – £116m – Bayer Leverkusen
For an initial £100 million up front, Wirtz became the Reds’ new No. 7. The deal has the potential to rise to £116 million with performance-related add-ons.
Hugo Ekitike – £79m – Frankfurt
For an initial £69 million plus another £10 million in add-ons, Ekitike bolstered Slot’s attack, adding youth and versatility.
Milos Kerkez – £40m – Bournemouth
The £40 million deal made Kerkez the most expensive full-back signing Liverpool have ever made. A significant investment at left-back.
Jeremie Frimpong – £29.5m – Bayer Leverkusen
The Reds triggered the 24-year-old’s £29.5 million release clause, which will be paid over three annual instalments.
Giorgi Mamardashvili – £29m – Valencia
A deal agreed a year in advance but only officially completed this summer for an initial £25 million, plus £4 million in add-ons.
Giovanni Leoni – £26m – Parma
Liverpool paid an initial £26 million to secure the 18-year-old, with Parma to earn more dependent on various add-ons.
Armin Pecsi – £1.5m – Puskas Akademia
The fee, while relatively small for Liverpool, is a club record for the Hungarian top-flight side.
Will Wright – £200,000 – Salford City
A youth signing worth upwards of £200,000. Liverpool beat Arsenal to his signing despite the London club offering a higher transfer fee and wages.
Freddie Woodman – Free Transfer – Preston
An unexpected but savvy signing by Liverpool, adding a third goalkeeper with experience on a free transfer.
Total: £446.2m
Transfers Out
Luis Diaz – £65.6m – Bayern Munich
A £65.6 million that deal represents a considerable profit despite Diaz having entered the final two years of his contract and being set to turn 29 in January.
Darwin Nunez – £46m – Al-Hilal
The deal for Nunez’s exit is an initial £46 million but will rise further with add-ons built into the clubs’ agreement.
Jarell Quansah – £35m – Bayer Leverkusen
Quansah’s exit was for an initial fee of £30 million plus £5 million in potential add-ons. A buyback clause of €60m (£51.8m) is also included, active from 2027.
Ben Doak – £25m – Bournemouth
The agreement of £25 million includes a buy-back option. It was an essential condition for Liverpool agreeing to the transfer.
Caoimhin Kelleher – £18m – Brentford
After 10 years with the club, Kelleher left to become the No. 1 at Brentford for an initial £12.5 million – a further £5.5 million has been negotiated in add-ons.
A 20 percent sell-on clause held by Kelleher’s former club Ringmahon Rangers means they will receive up to £3.6 million.
Tyler Morton – £15m – Lyon
The deal is worth £15 million with Lyon, inclusive of add-ons, and like others represents pure profit on the club’s books as an academy graduate. Liverpool have a 20 percent sell-on clause.
Trent Alexander-Arnold – £8.4m – Real Madrid
Real Madrid‘s desire to have the right-back for the Club World Cup led to a deal being struck between the two clubs worth £8.4 million. He would otherwise have been available on a free transfer.
Nat Phillips – £3m – West Brom
Departed for a £3 million fee inclusive of add-ons after nine years on Liverpool’s books.
Total: £216 million
Net spend: £230.2 million
