Following the collapse of Marc Guehi’s summer transfer to Liverpool, the centre-back is now set to reject any potential contract proposals from Crystal Palace.
Today’s Main LFC Headline
With Guehi to remain a Crystal Palace player until at least January, due to manager Oliver Glasner threatening to resign if he was sold, the defender is now “extremely unhappy,” reported the Guardian‘s Ed Aarons.
He wrote that “Liverpool could attempt to sign Guehi again in the January transfer window, although he will also be able to sign a pre-contract agreement for an overseas club.”
While the Reds will still be confident of recruiting Guehi, whether that be in January or as a free agent next summer, a potential worry for the Reds comes in the fact that “Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Juventus are believed to have expressed an interest,” Aarons added.
That conversation is for another time, though. For now, he remains a Palace player, but his future as skipper is less certain.
The Guardian reported: “There is no suggestion that he will not play for Palace again, although one source close to Guehi has said that he is considering whether to continue as captain.”
