Liverpool are still waiting for it to all come together this season, but while they do they make for concerning viewing, leaving plenty for Arne Slot to ponder.
It is hard not to ride the highs and the lows that come with following your football club, it is what defines being a supporter at the end of the day.
Currently Liverpool are experiencing the latter with unwanted frequency with the team looking to be playing without a clear style and plan, instead left to gamble on late risks.
It paid off at the start with seven straight wins, but four defeats in a row will always shift attention to the concerning elements at play, of which there are more than enough.
From missing chances at one end to set-piece vulnerabilities at the other, Liverpool have a lot of work to do to get themselves back on track.
Here are 14 stats to be concerned about and what Slot cannot ignore:
– Conceding first in four matches, all ended in defeat
– Mo Salah has not scored since win vs. Atletico Madrid on September 17
– Four defeats in a row (in all competitions) for the first time since November 2014
– Have conceded five set-piece goals in the first eight Premier League games
– 17 big chances missed, the third-most in the Premier League
– Federico Chiesa has played only 171 minutes despite two goals (joint-fourth most) and three assists (joint-most)
– Two clean sheets in 11 games across all competitions
– Seven wins in Liverpool’s last 15 games in all competitions dating back to last season (6L, 2D)
– Scored 42.8 percent of goals after minute 76, and have conceded 33.3 percent of goals after the 80th minute
– Faced 26 shots on target in the Premier League with a save percentage of just 57.7 percent
– Allowed a two-goal lead to slip three times, thankfully still won all three (just!)
– Averaging the fewest tackles per match of any Premier League side (13)
– Liverpool have already seen seven senior players miss a game due to injury – in 2024/25 they had 11 in total
– Have conceded two-plus goals in 54.5 percent of matches this season compared to 26.7 percent across 2024/25
