As part of their new partnership with Liverpool, manufacturers Adidas are set to release a remake of the iconic green-and-white 1995/96 away shirt later this season.
Ask Liverpool supporters of a certain age their favourite shirt and one of the most popular will be the away kit from the 1995/96 campaign.
Featuring distinctive green-and-white quarter sections, it was worn during the final season of the club’s first deal with Adidas.
With their association renewed for the third time as of this season, Liverpool and Adidas have organised a remake of that iconic away shirt from 30 years ago.
Per Footy Headlines, it will be part of a range of shirts reproduced by Adidas this season along with ones for Arsenal, Man United and Newcastle.
Liverpool are set to see two shirts released, one being the 1995/96 away shirt and another expected to be a ‘blackout’ design – potentially based on the same kit.
It will be part of a wider collection of re-releases from that season including a track jacket and training gear.
Footy Headlines report that they will be released in early 2026 and feature the original Carlsberg sponsor on the front – despite Arne Slot‘s side now wearing Standard Chartered on their current kits.
Alexis Mac Allister shared a series of photos of him wearing the 1995/96 away shirt on his Instagram in August, which is likely to have resembled a soft launch of Adidas’ plans.
Liverpool finished third in the Premier League that season as well as reaching the final of the FA Cup, with Robbie Fowler scoring 36 goals in all competitions for Roy Evans’ side.
Adidas are also set to release a new limited-edition shirt later this year, with an eye-catching black-and-gold design.
Reliable leaks via Opaleak and Story Jersey show a black shirt with gold accenting and an all-over pattern inspired by the Shankly Gates.
The same pattern can already be seen on the pre-match shirt worn during warmups.
The limited-edition shirt, which also features the standard LFC crest and Adidas trefoil logo, has a thick V-neck collar and gold piping running down the sides.
Footy Headlines reports that it will be released towards the end of the year as part of a wider ‘Lifestyler’ collection also including a track jacket.
It should be noted that there are no plans for Slot’s side to wear the shirt during any official matches and instead it is part of a range exclusively for supporters.
