Ibrahima Konate is expected to be fit for Liverpool’s clash with Man United, but Alisson is a long-term absentee with Arne Slot providing another update.
Konate pulled out of the France squad midway through the international break as he felt the effects of the quad injury picked up in Liverpool’s 2-1 loss to Chelsea.
The centre-back was therefore considered a doubt for the visit of Man United, with Joe Gomez on standby.
But speaking in his pre-match press conference on Friday, Slot revealed that Konate is already in training, indicating he will be in the squad against Man United.
“Ibou has come back to us, started his sessions again, and expected to train with us today,” he told reporters.
Asked about Alisson‘s hamstring injury, he explained: “He’s not training with us. He’s out.
“Like I always say it’s so difficult to say, because the end phase of rehab always can give you positives or negatives.
“But he will not play at the weekend and also not next week.”
That rules the Brazilian out against Man United, Eintracht Frankfurt and Brentford, but the expectation is that he will in fact be out until after the November international break.
Ryan Gravenberch “completely fit”
Another concern emerging from the break just gone came with Ryan Gravenberch substituted at half-time in the Netherlands’ 4-0 win over Finland.
Slot confirmed reports that this was simply a precautionary substitution, saying: “Ryan is completely fit.
“Although we still have to train twice, but if you ask me now he’s completely fit.
“We are in a good place with the Dutch national team, if Ronald Koeman can make a decision either to play Tijjani Reijnders or Ryan Gravenberch. So he played them both 45 minutes.”
Giovanni Leoni (ACL), Stefan Bajcetic (hamstring) and Jayden Danns (hamstring) are long-term absentees, while Slot did not provide an update on Wataru Endo (hamstring) who missed Japan’s friendlies against Paraguay and Brazil.
