Ibrahima Konate injury update given by France teammate – Latest Liverpool FC News

An update has emerged regarding the extent of Ibrahima Konate‘s injury, with Marc Guehi also in the transfer headlines again.

Today’s Main LFC Headline

Konate was feeling “his quad a little bit” after being substituted in last weekend’s 2-1 defeat away to Chelsea, leading to concerns about an injury absence.

The extent of the Frenchman’s injury still hasn’t been confirmed, but teammate William Saliba has claimed that the issue is only a “minor” one, having not trained on Tuesday.

“He hasn’t been training because he has some minor injuries,” Saliba told reporters, via the Liverpool Echo.

“I hope he’ll be back soon but I don’t know any more.”

Meanwhile, Andy Robertson has returned to full training for Scotland, having limped off after the final whistle Chelsea on Sunday.

Here’s hoping Konate is similarly involved later this week!

Sam Millne has discussed Liverpool’s left-back situation, calling for Robertson to come in for Milos Kerkez after the international break:

“There isn’t a defining answer to who should be first-choice, but at the moment, bringing Robertson back in could help add stability to a Liverpool side which has undergone major changes.

“He already has steady on-field relationships with Cody Gakpo and Virgil van Dijk. Rekindling those would help bring back some fluency to Liverpool’s play on the left.

“Of course, this doesn’t mean Kerkez would be left out in the cold; Robertson has started twice and come on in four games already this campaign.

“The youngster could then be allowed time to develop before stepping up to replace his senior properly in the coming years.”
