Arne Slot has provided the update everyone was waiting for around Liverpool’s injuries, and it is not encouraging news for four players ahead of Saturday’s trip to Brentford.
Jeremie Frimpong has joined Alisson and Giovanni Leoni as confirmed absentees for Liverpool’s clash with Brentford on Saturday night.
The right-back picked up a worrying hamstring injury in Wednesday’s 5-1 victory at Eintracht Frankfurt and Slot told reporters on Friday that he is “not in a good place.”
Meanwhile Alexander Isak and Ryan Gravenberch are both doubts for the weekend with new groin and ankle issues respectively.
Isak does at least appear to have avoided any long-term layoff after fears over his half-time withdrawal at Frankfurt in midweek.
“Jeremie is not in a good place. What I mean by that is he’s not going to play today, tomorrow or in the next week,” Slot’s update began.
“A hamstring injury, that’s going to take a while.
“Alex not too bad, question mark for the weekend and so let’s see where he is in then.
“That’s the same to be said about Ryan. He didn’t travel with us, so today we are in again. Let’s see where he is today.
“And Alisson is not in the squad tomorrow. That’s also going to take a little bit longer, yeah.”

With Frimpong out and Isak considered a doubt, Slot is expected to make at least two changes for a clash with a Brentford side in mixed form at present.
Mohamed Salah is likely to replace Isak but the head coach could also turn to Federico Chiesa if he sticks with his 4-2-4 system from the win at Frankfurt.
Meanwhile Conor Bradley will replace Frimpong at right-back, and Slot could retain his midfield duo of Dominik Szoboszlai and Curtis Jones given Gravenberch’s situation.
Milos Kerkez and Alexis Mac Allister are also in contention to return to the side at the Gtech Community Stadium.
