Liverpool FC now have 8 players injured

Liverpool’s woes on the pitch are being compounded by their injury list off it, with eight players currently plagued by a fitness issue.

Liverpool’s slump has been difficult to watch, and Arne Slot‘s ability to keep a consistent side – should he choose to – has been impaired by the club’s injury list.

Curtis Jones was the latest to flag an issue in the defeat at Brentford, with the midfielder now in doubt with an apparent groin injury after being asked to be taken off with 20 minutes remaining.

“He walked off instead of needing a lot of treatment so I have to wait and see,” Slot later explained.

Meanwhile, Alexander Isak (groin) and Ryan Gravenberch (ankle) missed the trip to the Gtech and will be in doubt for the midweek Carabao Cup fixture, and possibly beyond.

Alisson (hamstring)
Giovanni Leoni (ACL)
Jayden Danns (hamstring)
Stefan Bajcetic (hamstring)

Jeremie Frimpong (hamstring) and Alisson (hamstring) are both looking at weeks until their return, with all signs pointing to being unavailable until after the November international break.

Their respective absences could leave Slot without five first-team options against Crystal Palace on Wednesday, which is then compounded by Giovanni Leoni‘s season-ending ACL injury.

Jayden Danns (hamstring) and Stefan Bajcetic (hamstring) remain sidelined, with the former facing the prospect of surgery due to the severe nature of his muscle tear.

Liverpool’s injury list impairs Slot’s ability to effectively rotate against Oliver Glasner’s side at Anfield, with it inevitable that not as many regulars will get the rest that may have been planned for them.

With four games in 12 days still to come before the last international break of 2025, Slot has a big job on his hands to keep players ‘fresh’ all the while rebuilding their confidence.

After just 13 games this season, Liverpool have had 10 different players miss at least one game due to injury; across the entire 2024/25 season, the Reds had 11 regulars in total miss a match.
