Liverpool have faced just 3 non-Premier League teams in last 16 Carabao Cup ties

Crystal Palace are the latest in a long list of Premier League opponents that Liverpool have recently had to overcome in the Carabao Cup.

In the last 16 League Cup rounds in which Liverpool have featured, they have faced Premier League opposition 13 times.

Despite this, the Reds have reached the final in three of the last four years, winning the competition on two of those occasions.

Due to a combination of injuries and exits, only four of the matchday squad from Liverpool’s 2022 triumph over Chelsea have a chance of playing against Palace.

Oliver Glasner’s side have not won in their last four games, drawing with Bournemouth and losing to Everton, AEK Larnaca and Arsenal.

The Eagles set a new club record of 19 matches undefeated in all competitions before losing to Everton 24 days ago, conceding a 93rd-minute winner.

This season in the third round, they overcame Millwall 4-2 on penalties after the 90 minutes finished 1-1 with Chris Richards scoring for the Eagles.

Palace could go four matches unbeaten against Liverpool in all competitions for the first time ever.

Mo Salah can reach Liverpool landmark

One more goal for Mo Salah would see him reach 250 for Liverpool, a tally only two others have reached in the history of the club.

Roger Hunt ended up with 285 goals in 492 appearances, while Ian Rush tops the list with 346 goals in 660 games.

Liverpool have kept one clean sheet in their last seven matches in this competition, coming in the 4-0 semi-final second leg victory over Tottenham in February.

The first leg defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium earlier this year is the only time they have failed to score in any of the last 14 League Cup fixtures.

Freddie Woodman could feature, having played his last first team match on March 15, keeping goal for Preston in a 2-1 home win over Portsmouth.

Calvin Ramsay last appeared for Liverpool 11 days short of three years ago when he started against Derby at Anfield in this competition.
