Arne Slot has made 10 changes to his side for Crystal Palace‘s visit in the Carabao Cup, with two players making their debut in what is a very young Liverpool squad.
There has been no shortage of debate regarding Slot’s team selection for this cup tie, with a need for a win balanced with looking ahead to three key fixtures.
And Liverpool’s head coach has opted to make sweeping changes, including handing out two debuts as his side return to Anfield for the first of three home matches in a row.

Third-choice goalkeeper Freddie Woodman plays his first game for Liverpool, taking over from Giorgi Mamardashvili.
It is a much-changed backline, with Calvin Ramsay – playing his first senior game since 2022 – joining Joe Gomez, Andy Robertson and Milos Kerkez, the only player retained from the weekend.
Wataru Endo, Trey Nyoni and Alexis Mac Allister start in midfield.
And, finally, in attack, Federico Chiesa makes his second start of the season alongside Rio Ngumoha and 18-year-old debutant Kieran Morrison.
The bench is incredibly young and does not include any senior player, instead opportunities are handed out to academy players including Trent Kone-Doherty, Kaide Gordon and Keyrol Figueroa.
