Liverpool U18s fought back from 3-0 down after 24 minutes to clinch a 3-3 draw with Wolves on Saturday, in another stunning comeback from Simon Wiles’ side.

After the dramatic 5-4 victory over Frankfurt in the UEFA Youth League in midweek, the U18s returned to action at the AXA with seven players from that game involved again.
Josh Sonni-Lambie was one of three players to start both and the in-form striker played a key role in the young Reds battling back from 3-0 down to secure a point.

Wolves enjoyed a dominant start in the Kirkby wind, with goals from Alfie White, David Osifo and Jerome Abbey ensured a commanding lead for the visitors after just 24 minutes.
But Liverpool brought it back to 3-2 before half-time, with La’more Lee Forrester pressing Wolves‘ defence and sniffing out a loose ball before finishing well for the hosts’ first.
Sonni-Lambie then made it 10 goals for the season with an excellent swivelling finish, before squandering another chance just before the break.
Wiles acknowledged the workload on his striker – who may even be needed when the U21s host Everton on Sunday – by withdrawing Sonni-Lambie at half-time as one of two changes.

It was another of those involved in Frankfurt who finished the comeback, with midfielder Oliver O’Connor – scorer of the U19s’ fifth only three days previous – surging into the box for a well-taken strike to make it 3-3.
Both teams pushed for a winner late on, with Lee Forrester, AJ Yeguo and Lucas Clarke all going close for Liverpool, but the game ended even.
Having scored late to come back for a 3-2 win over Man City last weekend and then edging the topsy-turvy clash with Frankfurt in the week, it was another high-scoring comeback for Liverpool U18s.

They have now scored 27 goals in nine domestic games so far this season, with the U19s adding another seven in three games in Europe.
Next up for the U18s is their Merseyside derby at the AXA on Wednesday night, with Wiles likely to field a stronger side for what promises to be another fiery clash between Liverpool and Everton.
