Marc Guehi has transfer interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona – 3 clubs keen

La Liga duo Real Madrid and Barcelona are among the clubs reportedly interested in signing Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi.

The Reds missed out on signing Guehi on deadline day last month, despite the 25-year-old passing a medical and agreeing a £35 million move to Anfield.

Palace ended up putting their foot down, due to a lack of centre-back depth without him, and he assisted Eddie Nketiah’s winner in the Eagles’ recent 2-1 victory at home to Liverpool.

According to Sky Sports‘ Kaveh Solhekol, the current “feeling” is that Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are all keen on signing Guehi in 2026, with his current deal expiring at the end of this season.

The European trio have the luxury of signing a pre-contract agreement with the England international in January, meaning they “have the advantage” over Liverpool.

Meanwhile, Sky Sports’ Mark McAdam adds that there is “still a chance” that Palace could persuade Guehi to remain at Palace, but he will surely consider a new challenge at this point in his career.

Liverpool failing to sign the Eagles skipper felt like a big blow at the time, and it has continued to be an issue in the six weeks or so since.

The Reds have looked leaky in defence, conceding twice against Atletico Madrid, Palace and Chelsea recently, and Ibrahima Konate‘s form has been a concern.

Not only that, but Giovanni Leoni is also out for the rest of the 2025/26 with an ACL injury, so there is a lack of centre-back options for Arne Slot.

Hopefully, Guehi still sees Liverpool as his ideal choice next summer, but the lure of moving to Madrid or Barca is great, as has been the case with the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Xabi Alonso and Luis Suarez.

This could easily be agent talk more than anything, though, forcing Liverpool’s hand and making them sign Guehi for a fee in January.

At 25, he is primed to be a great signing for the Reds, coming straight in as a superb option and heading into next summer as a likely starter for England at the 2026 World Cup.

Centre-back has to be a key area of focus for Liverpool, especially if Konate moves on, and Guehi has the quality to excel at Anfield.
