After disposing of Leeds Utd in the Carling Cup in midweek, Rafa Benitez’s side return to Premier League action to face Phil Brown’s Hull City.
The victory at Elland Road on Tuesday was Liverpool’s fifth win in a row and at Anfield on Saturday they go searching for their fourth consecutive league victory.
The Reds, currently third after six games played, could actually leapfrog Manchester Utd into second place this weekend with Utd away at Stoke. League leaders Chelsea are at Wigan. Both rivals’ fixtures are also 3pm kick-offs on Saturday.
Hull have had a difficult start to their second season in the top flight and find themselves second bottom of the table and earning just a point away from home this season.
Liverpool remain without Alberto Aquilani and Nabil El Zahr although Daniel Agger could return to the frame after recovering from a back injury and Fabio Aurelio came through the game at Leeds after returning from a knee injury sustained over the summer.
