Sunday’s LFC Transfer Rumours – Downing to Arsenal!

There are 36 days until the January transfer window opens and you can expect plenty of names to be linked with moves to Liverpool during that time.

Sunday’s national newspapers are, as ever, filled with much gossip from the sublime to the ridiculous!

Let’s start with one that Liverpool fans will be hoping is true.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is ready to make a shock £10m move for Liverpool’s out-of-favour winger Stewart Downing, 28, in the January transfer window. (Mail on Sunday)

Yes, you read that right – £10m, and Arsenal!

Meanwhile, an altogether more worrying – but just as skeptical – report suggest Luis Suarez has a £40m buyout clause that can be activated this summer (The People).

Manchester City, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid all want the Premier League’s top goalscorer.

The People also suggest Man City are to “step up their pursuit” of 19 year old Malaga’s Spanish attacking midfielder Isco – a player who Liverpool are interested in.

Liverpool and Manchester City are also interested in midfielder Jordan Larsson, 15, who plays for Swedish side Hogaborgs BK. (The People)

Elsewhere, reported Liverpool target Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has set his sights on a cut price £6m January transfer to Arsenal. (Sunday Mirror)

And finally, one less surprisingly one; Liverpool are interested in Chelsea forward Daniel Sturridge. (The People)
