Rafa Benitez is delighted that he will have almost all of his players available for selection for this weekend’s Premier League trip to Ewood Park.
After a miserable Autumn of injuries, which at one stage saw 13 first team players on the treatment table, Benitez is relishing the sight of golden sky at the end of the storm.
And with the news that Fernando Torres returned to full training today, Benitez could have all his players fit for Saturday’s game against Blackburn Rovers.
He said, “It will be very close to a fully-fit squad. We have two or three players with knocks but hopefully they are small things.
“It is always very positive but there is a big difference in players being available and being ready.
“When they are coming back from injuries, you have to be careful, but at least we will have options we didn’t have before.”
