Liverpool’s French striker Florent Sinama-Pongolle, currently out on loan to Blackburn Rovers, has revealed that if Rafael Benitez does the expected this summer and signs two strikers to improve his heavily-criticised strikeforce this summer, he will not be returning to the club.
Pongolle has never managed to pin down a regular first team place and took the opportunity to join Blackburn in January so he can play regular Premiership football.
He says, “If Benitez signs two new strikers I won’t be back, it would be impossible.
“I know Blackburn have spoken to my agent about staying which is good for me.
“But nothing has been decided. I’m still thinking about my future because I know I face an important decision at the end of the season. Blackburn have at least given me a chance to play games, and the manager speaks to me more.
“Im 21 and I need to play, I want to play. It’s difficult and frustrating when you’re sat on the bench.”
