Babel: ‘œIt might be too late’

Liverpool winger Ryan Babel says although the side have a new belief that they can beat arch rivals Manchester United this Saturday, he admits the club have already made too many mistakes this season.

The Reds know that victory at Old Trafford this weekend is essential to hold onto any faint hopes they may have of still catching up with Alex Ferguson’s men.

And after Tuesday night’s 4-0 demolition of Real Madrid in the Champions League, Babel knows that although the Reds are capable of beating the league leaders, the damage may already be done.

He told press, ‘œA season is very long and you always get a lot of mistakes over the course of one. We’ve made a lot of mistakes and we’ve almost given the title away.

‘œBut a victory like the one against Real Madrid will give the team a lot of confidence and now we have a new belief that we can beat them on Saturday.

‘œMaybe things can change and it gives us a buzz to go to Old Trafford with this preparation. Winning any game is possible.’
