Liverpool full-back Andrea Dossena has dismissed speculation linking him with a move away from Anfield and insists he has a future on Merseyside.
The 27-year-old was linked with a return to his homeland, Italy, throughout the summer after failing to make an impact during his first season at the club, following his £6.5million move from Udinese.
However, it is thought that Dossena may now be part of Rafa Benitez’s plans after left-back Fabio Aurelio picked up an injury whilst at home in Brazil.
Other reports suggested Dossena was looking for a way out after strugling to adapt to life in England.
“I’ve heard a lot of rumours about my future this summer but the truth is I want to remain at Liverpool,” he told the Liverpool Echo.
“I’m happy with my team-mates, with my coach and with the club. I have never wanted to leave.”
